
Cody Hicks
Cody Hicks was raised in Alabama after his family moved from San Diego. He is a forth generation carpenter with roots dating back to the logging days of Appalachia. From a young age, Cody worked for his father’s flooring business servicing Fairhope, Daphne, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. He became proficient with tile work such as backsplashes, showers, and flooring.
After moving to Asheville, NC with his wife, Cody started working with an architect firm and joined the Army National Guard as a medic. During his time at Carlton Architects, Cody discovered his love for woodworking and design. Since he is conversational in Spanish, Cody was able to lead diverse crews and gained skills in blueprint reading, fine carpentry and installation of contemporary finishes. He learned Spanish during his many surf trips to Central America.
Later, Cody was giving an opportunity to further is carpentry skills in his hometown of Fairhope, Alabama with an old friend. Building custom kitchens and furniture solidified Cody’s passion for woodworking.
Currently, Cody lives in Foley, Alabama and is the owner of Xylem Woodworking, LLC. He creates a wide range of home remodels and custom wood projects in his shop. He still enjoys surfing and spending time outdoors with his wife Katie, and their two Aussies.
