Meet Cody Hicks
Xylem Woodworking was built from a lifelong passion for craftsmanship and a belief that quality work still matters.
Cody is a master carpenter with more than 20 years of construction experience across custom homes, remodeling, cabinetry, trim, and finish carpentry. Over the years, he has worked alongside homeowners, builders, subcontractors, and design professionals throughout Alabama’s Gulf Coast.
Earlier in his career, Cody worked with Carlton Architecture, where he gained valuable experience reading blueprints, understanding architectural details, and bringing thoughtful design concepts to life through craftsmanship and precision.
Before founding Xylem Woodworking, Cody also served in the military as a combat medic. The discipline, attention to detail, and calm problem-solving developed during that time continue to shape the way he approaches both his work and relationships with clients today.
He is conversational in Spanish and experienced working alongside teams on active job sites, helping projects move smoothly from concept to completion.
